Watercraft Insurance

Insurance rates change often, so you owe it to yourself to find out if you're getting the most for your dollar. The policy we provide covers you anywhere in the U.S., day or night, and features policy extras like on-water and roadside towing service, unbeatable disappearing deductibles and water-ski and fishing equipment coverage at no additional cost.
For those who pride themselves on safety, we're happy to reward you with Disappearing Deductibles.
Pleasure and fishing boat policy deductibles decrease by 25% each claim-free year. After four years, you're deductible-free until your next claim, at which time your deductibles will reset to your selected level.
Is fishing your passion?
If so, we'll protect your fishing boat so you focus on the task at hand - catching the big one. Fishing equipment is very expensive and adds up quickly. That's why our coverage protects your hobby from thieves, or overzealous fish, by replacing up to $2,500 worth of stolen equipment. The policy also includes convenient "sign and drive" roadside assistance when your trailer or tow vehicle is damaged or disabled, which helps reduce your out-of-pocket expenses.
Great coverage doesn't always come at a high price.
Many of our customers are on fixed incomes and require affordable insurance that doesn't skimp on coverage. We offer a variety of discounts to help keep expenses to a minimum.
Consider the following coverage features:

Liability Bodily Injury and Property Damage Coverage

Liability Bodily Injury and Property Damage Coverage covers legal liability for an accident where there is damage or injury to someone else, up to the limit of liability you select. The insurance company pays for the cost to replace or repair damaged property, the medical bills and wage loss incurred by an injured person, and other damages the insured is legally obligated to pay as result of an accident.

Uninsured Boater Coverage

Uninsured Boater Bodily Injury Coverage pays for medical treatment, wage loss, and other damages sustained as a result of a boating accident where the liable boater does not have liability coverage.

Medical Payments Coverage

Medical Payments Coverage covers the cost of necessary medical care provided as a result of a boating accident and applies no matter who is at fault. The coverage covers people in the boat and will pay for injuries caused while water-skiing or tubing. In some states, this coverage only applies after other medical insurance is exhausted.

Comprehensive and Collision Coverage

Comprehensive and Collision coverage covers the cost to repair or replace the boat if it is stolen or damaged in an accident, no matter who is at fault. The insured shares in this cost by paying a deductible. Under Collision, the insurance company pays for damage caused in a collision with another vehicle or object. Under Comprehensive, the insurance company pays for damage caused by an event other than collision, such as fire, theft, or vandalism.

Actual Cash Value Coverage

The Actual Cash Value option is the most economical choice when it comes to insuring a boat or personal watercraft. The Actual Cash Value is determined by the market value, age and condition of the boat or personal watercraft at the time of the loss.

Total Loss Replacement Coverage

Replaces total losses with the latest model (new-for-old) or, if not available, a comparable model. Available on new boats purchased within the preceding 13 months. Once the coverage is purchased, it can remain in place through the 10th model year. For boats that at the time of a total loss are 5 models years old or less, the insurance company will replace the boat with the latest model, or if not available, a comparable model. For boats that at the time of total loss are older than 5 model years, the insurance company will pay the purchase price.

Agreed Value Coverage

In the event of a total loss, our expanded Agreed Value guarantee pays you the amount originally spent for the watercraft or the appraised value, with no deduction for depreciation and no deductible.

Disappearing Deductibles

Included at no extra charge with Total Loss Replacement and Agreed Value. Disappearing Deductibles provides a reduction of 25% in Comprehensive and Collision deductibles for each claim-free renewal period. When the fourth consecutive claim-free renewal period is reached, your deductible diminishes to $0. If a Comprehensive or Collision claim is paid, deductibles are reset to the selected level.

Replacement Cost for Personal Effects

Pays up to the specified replacement cost limits for loss of, or damage to, your boat's contents that are normally used in conjunction with the boat ($100 deductible for theft applies). Examples of personal effects:
  • Fishing equipment (maximum limit $300)
  • Clothes
  • Radio, compact disk
  • Camera, binoculars
  • Dishes, silverware, pots, pans, cups
  • Personal computers, cellular phones
  • Permanent and portable boating equipment are not considered personal effects but rather should be included in the overall value of the boat.

On-Water Towing and Labor

Pays for towing and labor costs on a reimbursement basis up to $1,000 per occurrence. You choose from the three available limit options: $300, $500 or $1,000. The labor coverage applies when it is performed at the time and place of disablement, while the boat is in the water.

Roadside Assistance

If you're towing your boat and your vehicle or boat trailer breaks down, we'll pay for the tow and any necessary labor charges. All you do is sign-and-drive - there are no out-of-pocket expenses. Also pays for towing to the nearest qualified repair facility and necessary labor at the place of disablement when the towing vehicle or boat trailer is disabled due to the following:
  • Mechanical or electrical breakdown
  • Dead battery
  • Flat tire
  • Lock-out
  • Insufficient supply of fuel, oil, water or other fluids
  • Entrapment in snow, mud, water or sand within 100 feet of the roadway
Immediate sign-and-drive roadside assistance can be obtained 24 hours a day any day of the week from anywhere in the U.S. or Canada.

Replacement Cost on Fishing Equipment

Provides $2,500 coverage for damage to fishing equipment while it's on board an insured boat or while it's being carried on or off of an insured boat. A $250 deductible applies for each theft loss.

Fuel Spill Liability

Included at no extra charge with Liability Coverage, this feature covers unintentional oil or fuel spills that result in bodily injury or property damage and that the insured becomes legally responsible for because of an accident arising out of the ownership, maintenance, or use of the insured boat. The limit of coverage is based on the liability limits selected by the insured.

Wreckage Removal

Included at no extra charge with Comprehensive and Collision Coverage, this benefit covers reasonable costs incurred by the insured for any attempted raising, removal or destruction of the wreckage of an insured boat resulting from any loss for which Comprehensive and Collision coverages are provided. The limit of liability varies based on whether or not the insured is legally required to raise, remove or destroy the boat.
